September starts my favorite time of the year. I love the months of September, October and November. The colors of the Rogue Valley always amaze me with the deep reds, oranges, and browns. Fall was also the season I got married. Next month is October and now is the time to start thinking of your halloween party. Gold and White Vintage Wedding

One of the current trends for weddings that I love is the vintage look. In the Rogue Valley we are lucky to have many Historical mansions, bed & breakfasts, and farms. Nothing is more classier than a white and gold color scheme with a touch of taupe.

11 Tips to Help you Save on your Wedding Cake Budget.

How do you get a cake that looks great and tastes great, without breaking the budget? Here are 11 steps to saving on your cake budget:

1. Check with a local caterer or baker first.

2. Ask a local restaurant if it's pastry chef would consider baking your cake.

3. Check your local grocery bakery. You can add your own flowers, ask them to change the color scheme of the cake or add ribbon to the cake before you pick it up.

4. Check prices of local culinary schools.

5. Keep your cake simple and avoid intensive decorations that require lots of labor work.

6. skip multiple tiers with pillars and have the cake layers stacked. Borrow pillars if this look is important to you.

7. Ask for a cake topper at your Bridal Shower.

8. Rent a "fake" cake from a local baker for your table decor. Purchase a small cake for the cake cutting and serve your guests cost friendly sheet cakes.

9. Buy a multi-tiered cake and decorate it yourself.

10. Have a friend or family member bake the cake

11. Skip cake and serve nontraditional desserts, such as cupcake towers, cookie towers, cheesecake or a dessert buffet.
